Help! My PC Won’t Turn On After Installing Linux Mint

I recently switched to Linux and installed Linux Mint, specifically the Cinnamon version. I used Balena Etcher to flash the installation image onto a USB drive. After booting my PC and starting the installation, I got a prompt that said "remove drive then press enter." Now, after restarting, my PC won't turn on—there are no lights, fans, or anything on the monitor. My hard drive had about 70GB of space left before I started the installation. Can anyone help me figure out what went wrong?

Regarding the 'remove drive' prompt, that usually means the installation was successful, but it sounds like there might be some confusion about your boot settings. Can you check if your hard drive is still recognized in the BIOS? If not, there could have been an issue during the installation process. Next time, double-check that you're installing to the correct drive and not accidentally overwriting any important data. Let us know what you find!

It sounds like your PC isn't powering on at all after the installation. Are there any lights on the case or fans spinning? If everything is completely dead, it might not be related to the Linux installation itself. Just to be sure, check your power connections or try reseating the power supply cables. Sometimes, hardware can act up after a new installation, but it might just be a coincidence that it happened now.

You mentioned that you had about 70GB left on your hard drive. Can you clarify whether you had Windows installed previously? It's crucial to have a working operating system for your PC to boot. When you were prompted to remove the drive, did you actually see Linux Mint's installation finish? If your PC is trying to boot from an empty drive, that could explain why it's not turning on correctly. Also, consider trying a different USB stick if you want to reinstall.
