Help! My RTX 3060 Ti is Overheating

Hey everyone! I recently helped a friend upgrade their PC from a mini case to a standard desktop tower, and now we're facing a pretty big issue. The NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti graphics card is running way too hot—it gets really hot to the touch! When it's idle, the temperature sits at around 58°C, and it shoots up to over 85°C under high or medium loads. The fans are cranked up to max speed all the time, and it's so loud that it drowns out the speakers. I'm wondering if there's anything we can do to cool it down other than wiping the system clean or checking the thermal paste and heatsink. Any suggestions?

85°C at full load is kind of within the acceptable range for some GPUs, but you should definitely think about cleaning it up and reapplying thermal paste, especially if the card isn't brand new. Don’t forget to check the thermal pads too! They might need replacing as well.

I get what you're saying, but 85°C can be pushing it, especially if the fans are running full blast even when the GPU is idling at 55°C. If you're considering repasting, just a heads up that disassembling a GPU can be tricky if you haven't done it before. And make sure you have suitable replacements for any thermal pads if you need to. You can usually find those through PC part retailers online.
