I recently built my first PC and chose the Thermalright Aqua Elite 360 V3 cooler based on great reviews. However, after only four months of use, my computer suddenly spiked to 99 degrees yesterday. Until now, it was running smoothly and quietly. I'm not very experienced, but I noticed that the BIOS showed N/A for the pump header, although the CPU fans were still operating.
Is it fair to assume the pump is dead? Should I blame bad luck, or could there be other issues? I've heard that Thermalright's customer service isn't the best for RMA claims, and I've already contacted them. Should I just get a Nautilus from BestBuy while I wait for a response? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Sounds like you've hit some bad luck here. Many AIO pumps come from the same manufacturer, so it's not unheard of for issues like this to happen. It might just be a faulty pump, unfortunately.
Definitely looks like a broken AIO. Since it's only four months old, the warranty should still be valid. Go ahead and start the RMA process with Thermalright as it should cover manufacturing defects. Just remember that it might take some time, so consider a backup AIO if you need your PC quick. That way you won't be left hanging!

Yeah, sounds like a good plan! I really need my setup for work too, not just for gaming. I guess I might grab a new one now and resell or keep the warranty replacement if it comes through.
