Help! My Wi-Fi Driver Is Down and I Can’t Connect

I'm feeling pretty stressed here because my Wi-Fi adapter driver isn't running, and I need to get my schoolwork done before Friday. I have an Acer AN515-43 with an Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz driver. We recently changed our Wi-Fi, and suddenly my Wi-Fi button is gone! It was working fine until about three hours ago. I'm not very tech-savvy, and I've tried everything like disabling, enabling, and reinstalling through the device manager, but nothing works. There's no available update, and I can't even install a new driver because I don't have internet access. The device manager shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on the driver, and the 'rollback' option is greyed out. I'm really lost and just need to finish my schoolwork, so any help with this would be appreciated!

Have you tried using your phone as a temporary hotspot? If your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, you can enable USB tethering by plugging it into your computer with a USB cable. Just make sure to turn on USB tethering in the phone settings. This way, you'll have internet access to download the drivers you need until you fix the issue!

That's a clever idea! I didn't consider using my phone for that.

It sounds like your Wi-Fi drivers might be corrupted or uninstalled, especially since you no longer see the Wi-Fi button. Without a USB stick, it’s tricky, but you could download the driver file on your phone and transfer it to your PC via USB connection. Just to clarify, software refers to programs like browsers or apps, while hardware includes physical devices like your laptop.

I can't do that either! I don’t have any other device to work with. I’m really just trying to finish my classwork.
