I'm diving into building a brand-new PC setup and could use some guidance on a few parts. I already have a 144Hz monitor at 1920x1080 and a 16GB DDR5 RAM stick lying around. For my graphics card, I'm leaning towards the RX 7600 since I don't need a super powerful GPU for my usual tasks. However, I'm torn between a couple of processors: should I go with the i5 14400F, which has 10 cores and seems to allow for future upgrades, or should I consider the Ryzen 5 7500F or the Ryzen 5 5500, both of which have 6 cores? They're all affordable options for me, but I'm concerned about potential bottleneck issues in the future. Any advice would be great!

I'd recommend going with the Ryzen 5 7500F. Since you already have DDR5, that makes it a solid choice. The price of RAM has shot up recently, so you’re lucky to have that! Also, the Ryzen 5 5500 only supports DDR4, and the i5 14400F has a mix of performance and efficiency cores, which effectively means it performs like a 6-core in gaming anyway. Plus, the 7500F can be overclocked quite well—I've got one running with an RX 9070 XT and it's been fantastic!

Thanks for the advice! I guess that means the 7500F will serve me well for both gaming and productivity tasks like Photoshop and After Effects, right?
