Hey folks! I'm having an issue with my RTX 5090, as it appears to be locked at a thermal design power (TDP) of 450W according to HWINFO. Whenever I'm gaming or running intense benchmarks, it doesn't exceed that limit. I've reset everything in MSI Afterburner, and my GPU is connected to my BeQuiet Dark Power 14 PSU using a 600W cable. I'm wondering if the recent NVIDIA drivers I updated might be causing this problem. Any ideas on what's going on?

Have you considered using the original power adapter that came with your GPU? I saw a similar case where a defective 12V PSU cable caused issues. You might want to check that too!
Make sure you’re really pushing your system! The RTX 5090 should handle most games on max settings without going over 450W. Try running a modern AAA title at max settings and see how it performs. Also, double-check your device manager to ensure it’s not recognizing it as a 5080.

It sounds like you might have the GPU switch set to silent mode. Check that! Also, make sure the voltage control isn’t unlocked in Afterburner. If those aren’t the culprits, consider disconnecting the 5090 from the slot and PSU, then reconnecting it, just to reset everything.
Not sure if my GPU is in silent mode, how do I check? I’ll also look into the voltage settings and try disconnecting/reconnecting the card. Thanks for the tips!
It's still not the voltage control, now I'm really puzzled. Not sure why I'm hitting this limit.
Oh, interesting! I do have another cable that came with the PSU. I’ll definitely try that.
