Help Needed: Outlook 2019 Max File Size Issue on Windows 11

I'm facing a problem with Outlook 2019 where I keep getting a max file size error when trying to send emails. The error message states: 'The message store has reached its maximum size. To reduce the amount of data, select items that you no longer need and permanently delete them.' I attempted to adjust the registry values for MaxLargeFileSize and WarnLargeFileSize in the path HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftOffice16.0OutlookPST, but it didn't work this time. I've successfully changed these values before on Windows 10 and earlier versions of Windows 11. Additionally, I'm noticing that my registry entries should be configured to allow for a larger size than they currently do. Is there any other solution through the registry, or perhaps a better way to manage the file size without having to delete emails?

Honestly, your best bet is to either delete some emails or move older ones to a separate PST file. Trying to exceed the default 50GB limit is just asking for trouble later on.

Have you considered using in-place archiving? It’s a great way to keep your data without going over the limit. If you're not under strict regulations, you can set up retention policies to free up space.

Definitely look into archiving emails or compressing your mailbox. Surprisingly, no one mentioned the mailbox compression tool! Even if the size says 50GB, it might not reflect the actual data, so compression could help reduce that significantly.

If you’re using Exchange, setting up an archive mailbox could help. It'll show up as a separate PST and may alleviate some of your storage issues. Also, which can help is syncing only recent emails instead of your entire history.

You might want to steer clear of the registry hacks. If you've hit the max mailbox size, your options are either to delete emails, get a higher license, or consider archiving them.
