Help Needed: Performance Issues with My New PC Setup in CS2

Hi everyone! I've recently built a new PC and am aiming for a stable 300-400 FPS while playing CS2, but I'm hitting some performance issues. Here are my specs:

- CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
- Motherboard: ASRock B550M HDV
- RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz
- GPU: Palit RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
- Storage: 1TB Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe
- Cooler: ID Cooling SE 214 XT
- PSU: 600W ADATA XPG Probe
- Case: Rampage SHIVA

At first, I start with around 300-400 FPS in Premier, but after a few rounds, my FPS drops and caps at about 100. If I tweak a setting, the FPS goes back up temporarily, and restarting the game helps too. In Faceit, it's slightly more stable, but still requires a couple of restarts during the match.

I play with a resolution of 1280x1024 on a Samsung Odyssey G5 32" monitor at 180Hz. I've tried various settings, from recommended to low, but the issues persist. Just three days ago, I reinstalled everything, and the performance was solid until today when the problem returned. I regularly clean dust from my system, and other games like Arc Raiders and Witcher 3 run smoothly on high settings.

Any advice on improving my FPS would be greatly appreciated!

Don't let others tell you your CPU isn't good enough for CS2. You've had good performance before, which shows your setup can handle it. Just look at similar setups in this video; it proves you should be getting better utilization and FPS!

One more thing—double-check your power supply. Sometimes underwhelming PSUs can cause performance drops due to inadequate power delivery, especially during intense gaming sessions.

I recently upgraded from an i7-9700k and saw a massive FPS boost after switching to a 9850x3d. My guess is that either your CPU or PSU is struggling under load. You might want to consider an x3d CPU as it really helps with CS2 performance due to its superior L3 cache efficiency.

It sounds like your CPU might be the bottleneck here. At lower resolutions, the CPU is more crucial for achieving higher FPS, so it's not surprising if you're struggling to hit that target. CS2 is less GPU-intensive, so you might want to explore CPU optimizations or upgrades.

But look at the CPU usage! It’s not being utilized fully, which suggests there's another issue at play. We expect higher utilization with that hardware for better FPS.
