Hey everyone! I've been using around 15 Windows 2022 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) servers without any major issues for years now—they're licensed user-wise, and I have local Group Policies in place pointing to an activated RD Licensing server. Recently, I've been running into a frustrating issue where, after rebooting a server, users can't connect to it. They get a message saying, "The remote session was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop License Servers available to provide a license." Checking the Event Log shows that the grace period for the server has expired, but I can't find any issues with my license server configuration. The odd part is that once I reboot the server again, everything works fine. Has anyone faced this problem? Any suggestions on how to resolve it? Thanks!

I dealt with a similar problem recently, and I found that the documentation on this topic was super helpful. You might want to check it out: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/remote/cannot-connect-rds-no-license-server. It really cleared things up for me!
I'd recommend checking your Group Policy settings to see how the license server is defined. When you mention issues after a reboot, are you referring to a user or server reboot? Clarifying this could help pinpoint the problem.
Try using the Remote Desktop Licensing Diagnoser from the Administrative Tools in Control Panel. Check if your license server shows up there; if it doesn't, the policy may not be applying correctly.
