Help! Windows 11 Keeps Freezing After GPU Upgrade

I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1070 to an RX 6600, and ever since, my Windows 11 has been acting up. The system crashes and freezes whenever I try to do anything demanding, like running multiple Firefox tabs, Discord, and Spotify together. It completely locks up—my mouse stops moving, and I end up with a black screen. Even gaming is a bust; when I try to launch GTA, the game won't even start—it freezes, flashes, and then sends me back to my desktop. I've used DDU to uninstall the old GPU drivers and installed the latest AMD ones. Any advice on how to fix this? Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 4500, 16 GB RAM, RX 6600 with 8 GB VRAM, and I'm running Windows 11 Pro 24h2.

Reinstalling Windows can be a hassle, but sometimes it really clears up issues like this after a hardware change. You might want to try doing a fresh install on a new drive or even consider dual booting just to see if that's what's causing your problems with Windows.

Yeah, I think it might just be Windows acting up. I’m actually dual booting with Linux right now, and everything runs smoothly there!

Have you checked the wattage on your power supply? It's crucial to ensure your PSU can handle the new GPU and all the other components, especially under load.

Just a heads-up: whenever tweaking with your hardware or BIOS settings, always make sure to back up your data first. You’d hate to lose anything important while making changes.
