Help with Frequent BSOD and Monitors Not Responding After Hardware Changes

I've been using my custom-built PC, which I put together during the pandemic, without too many issues. However, recently I've encountered a recurring Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the error code DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (0X133). This started about a week ago, around the time I changed the USB cable for my keyboard. I've also noticed my computer feels a bit sluggish, which could have begun after I upgraded to Windows 11 last November, but it's been more noticeable lately.

This morning I woke up to another frozen screen and decided to troubleshoot. I powered off the PC and switched back to the original keyboard cable, but now my monitors aren't getting any signal. On top of that, I accidentally pressed a button on my motherboard that I think refreshes the BIOS. I don't think that did any real damage since it seems like a design flaw if it could cause major issues.

Anyway, I'm planning to do some long-overdue cleaning and better cable management, but I wanted to reach out to see if anyone has insights on this problem or if I should just be more disciplined about regular maintenance. Thanks for any help!

If your monitors aren’t getting a signal after changing cables, you might want to check your GPU connections. Sometimes reseating the graphics card can help. Also, ensure the monitors are set to the correct input source. Good luck with the dusting and cable management!

When transitioning to Windows 11, did you do an upgrade from Windows 10 or perform a fresh install? That could affect system stability, especially if there were previous issues. An upgrade can sometimes bring along drivers that aren't fully compatible. Just a thought!
