I recently upgraded to a 5070ti graphics card and I want it to last as long as possible given the current state of GPU availability. I use three different setups: two monitors for my main work station, a TV and monitor for my sim rig, and a living room TV. I switch between these setups several times a week, and I'm worried about the HDMI and DisplayPort connections wearing out over time. Am I being overly cautious, or would it be wise to get some male-to-female adapters to minimize wear on the GPU ports?

You'll probably be fine without the adapters unless you're really rough with your cables. Just make sure to squeeze the release tab correctly when unplugging, it can help prevent any wear on the ports!
Yes, definitely use the adapters. It's way cheaper to replace an adapter than to deal with a worn-out GPU port. I test systems regularly and I've seen ports fail after repeated use. They just aren't built to handle that kind of constant wear.
If all your setups are close to each other, you might want to consider a KVM switch that can handle your needs. It might be pricey, especially for 4K120, but it could save you a lot of hassle.
With how often you’re switching setups, getting those adapters is definitely a good idea. It’ll save your GPU ports from the wear and tear that comes with constant plugging and unplugging.
Check out Aliexpress for a DisplayPort switcher! Go for one with remote options for easier switching. You'll find that way better than physical toggles.
