I'm putting together a PC and I've got most of the parts listed below, but I'm missing a few things. Can anyone offer some advice on what else I might need or any changes to the selections I've made? Here's my current list:
- Fractal Design North XL in Charcoal with TG Dark
- 5 Arctic P14 Pro PWM PST 140mm fans
- Corsair RM1000x power supply
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
- Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9070 XT GAMING 16 GB graphics card
- Kingston NV3 M.2 2TB SSD
- Kingston Fury Renegade G5 4TB SSD
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

As for the fan setup in the North XL, you can probably get by with just three fans in the front and one in the back for exhaust. Adding too many top fans may actually lead to more noise and not much better temps. Focus on quality airflow rather than just quantity!
The Kingston NV3 isn't a great choice for an SSD. Kingston has a reputation for using lower quality components in their NV line after initial reviews, which can mean reliability issues. I'd recommend switching to something like the WD SN770 or Teamgroup MP44 instead. They are similarly priced but offer much better performance. Also, for your additional storage, skip the Kingston G5; it’s a bit pricey for what you get. Look into options like the SN850X or Crucial T500 for a solid 4TB SSD that won't break the bank.
Good point about the NV3! I didn't realize it had such a bad reputation. I'll definitely check out those alternatives before making a purchase.
Regarding the power supply, the Corsair RM1000x is solid, but you might want to consider a less powerful option unless you plan on major upgrades. An 850W is more than enough for your build. The beQuiet Pure Power 12M is quieter and could save you some cash too!
Totally agree, I found that going for an 850W was more than enough for my last build!

Thanks for the tip! I'll stick with the recommended fan setup then.
