Help with Network and Performance Issues on Nobara Linux

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a latecomer to Linux and recently switched from Windows 11. I've been testing various distributions and ended up sticking with Nobara, as it allows me to easily install and run Windows games. However, I'm facing a few small issues that I need your help with:

1. I'm using Octohide VPN and exported my WireGuard config, but when I try to add it through the Network Manager, my internet just stops working.

2. I'm struggling with NextDNS configuration. I followed their guide for Linux and tried using systemd-resolved, but I couldn't find the appropriate .conf file. I even installed the NextDNS CLI app, which says it's running, but tests indicate it's not working.

3. I'm on an ASUS laptop, and while I used the GHelper app on Windows to control settings like battery charge limit and fan control, I can't get asusctl or ROG Control GUI to work on Nobara.

4. Lastly, while my games run fine, they only seem to detect the integrated Intel GPU instead of my dedicated NVIDIA RTX 4060, even after installing the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers.

Also, I'm curious about which version of Proton or Wine would work best for old games from the 2000s that come on CDs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I'm not sure what modern games you have that still come in installers! For those old games, you should definitely try adding them as non-Steam games and use Proton. It's specifically designed for gaming on Linux, and it works way better than Wine. Also, concerning drivers, make sure you're sourcing them directly from NVIDIA's site for compatibility.

I use KDE with Network Manager, and while you can enter the two IPv4 addresses, the DNS-over-HTTPS part is trickier. You’ll want to make sure you're handling the ad-blocking and family filter settings properly. It's definitely more manual compared to Windows, but once you get it set up, it works fine!
