Hey all, I recently upgraded my setup with a new motherboard and CPU, but I'm seeing some concerning temperatures. My Ryzen 9 9800X3D is idling at 65°C and hitting 95°C during stress tests. My previous parts include a Gigabyte A620MH and Ryzen 5 7500F, but now I'm using an X670E Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard along with a 240mm Deepcool LE520 AIO cooler. I've checked, and it seems everything is installed correctly, but I feel like I should be worried about these temps. Any thoughts? I saw some improvement in temps after realizing the AIO was connected incorrectly, dropping idle temps to 40-45°C and stress testing maxing out at 87°C after fixing it, but I'd like to hear what others think about all this!

Yeah, those temps are definitely on the high side! It’s likely that your new motherboard has different voltage settings which might be pushing the CPU harder than your old setup. I experienced similar issues when I upgraded. My new motherboard had factory tuning that affected idle temps. You might need to manually adjust some settings in the BIOS to optimize performance and cooling. Just keep an eye on the load temps too!
I had to lower the voltage slightly and tweak some fan curves to optimize cooling. Definitely worth a look!
Just throwing this out there: Did you remove the plastic sticker from the AIO? It’s a common thing to forget and it can cause overheating. But since you mentioned it was the same cooler you were using before, I guess that’s not the issue. Just double-check the installation again and maybe consider other factors like thermal paste application or checking if the pump is running properly.
I removed it for sure, and pasted it with MX-4 so that should be good!
That's solid! Just make sure your pump header is connected properly; sometimes, a motherboard switch-up affects that.
It sounds like your AIO cooler might not have been mounted correctly at first. If you're still seeing high temps, I’d recommend remounting it to ensure it’s seated properly. If problems persist, your AIO could be malfunctioning. Sometimes, going for a high-quality air cooler instead of an AIO can be more reliable in the long run. Just make sure you check everything thoroughly while you're at it!

What kind of adjustments did you make in BIOS to improve your temps?
