I recently inherited an iPhone from a deceased family member, and it's secured with Face ID and some extra theft protection. I have the passcode, but I can't unlock the Face ID since I don't resemble them closely. I need to get into the phone to check their financial accounts and see what payments need to be made or canceled. I also have a legal trust that gives me access to their digital accounts in case of incapacitation or after death. I'm not very familiar with Apple products, so I'm unsure how much data might be backed up or what will be lost if I reset it. Is there a legal way to access this information?

Unfortunately, there’s no way to bypass Face ID without looking like your relative. However, if they had iCloud set up, you could try logging into their iCloud account through the Windows app, which might let you view some saved passwords.

That’s a good point! If you have access to their iMac and can log in, you might be able to find some passwords saved there. Just a heads up though, if the mouse is out of battery, it can be a hassle since you can't use it while charging.
