Hey everyone! I recently stumbled upon my old Windows 10 computer while cleaning out my basement, and I want to check out what's stored on it. The issue is that I've forgotten the password to the only account, which is a local administrator. I've tried following several tutorials online, but they just lead me to the recovery screen's console that I still can't access without entering the password. Is there a way to get to my data without needing to log in? Any advice would be super helpful!

If your computer isn't protected by BitLocker, a solid option is to take out the hard drive, put it into a USB converter, and then connect it to a working computer. This way, you should be able to access your files directly.
Have you tried using PartedMagic? It’s a handy tool that can help you access your data and even remove the password if needed!
If your system isn’t BitLocked, consider trying Lazesoft. It allows you to boot from a USB and can help reset the password on the admin account. Just make sure to disable secure boot to get it working. Since you can't access the computer anyway, there's no real risk of making things worse!
