How Can I Access My Phone with a Dead Screen?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. My phone's screen just died, and I can't access my data or pictures since I can't accept any prompts when connecting it to my computer. The phone still seems to be functioning because I can receive calls, alarms, and even listen to music on Spotify, but the touchscreen is completely unresponsive. The device I'm using is a Zenfone 9. I was wondering if there are any third-party programs or methods to navigate this issue without having to replace the screen. I'm planning to try using a USB-C to USB-A adapter for a mouse and possibly a docking station at work tomorrow, but I'm looking for any other suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any perks to using a simpler multi-port adapter instead of a full docking station? I’m just curious if it would give me similar functionality. If that docking station doesn’t work out tomorrow, that could be a viable backup plan.

In my experience working with clients at major phone companies, I found that using a USB-C multi-port adapter works great. Just get one with at least one USB port (more if you plan to use separate mouse and keyboard) and an HDMI out. You can then connect your phone to a monitor or TV. That way, you can navigate and back up your data remotely. You should be able to find a decent multi-port adapter for under $20 if you search around.

If the USB mouse trick doesn’t work out, getting the display repaired is going to be your only option for retrieving your data. Unfortunately, there aren't many other workarounds once the screen goes out completely.
