How can I adjust the size of everything on Mint Cinnamon?

I recently installed the latest version of Mint Cinnamon, and everything on the screen is way too small—like, I have to lean in to read things! I've managed to make the menu icons bigger, but that's about it. I've fiddled with the display settings, but when I try scaling it up to 125%, it doesn't do anything. If I change the resolution, I get these annoying black lines at the top and bottom, and it just looks all jumbled. Even changing the zoom just messes up the layout without really helping. On sites like Instagram, the font size hasn't changed consistently, so some text is nearly unreadable while other bits are huge. I really want to make everything look normal, similar to how it is on Windows. Why is Mint behaving like this? Sorry for the long-winded explanation, but I'm really frustrated!

Cinnamon is using Classic X11, and it unfortunately doesn’t handle fractional scaling well. You’ll need to try scaling it up to either 150% or even 200%. That should help make everything larger and more readable!

Thanks! I’ll give that a shot tomorrow.
