I'm really interested in becoming an expert in Linux, but I'm not sure where to start beyond my current path. I know that networking has certifications like the CCIE, but where I live, the Red Hat exams aren't available. Right now, I'm working on my LPIC-2 and planning to tackle LPIC-3 next. I already have a home lab set up with a decent amount of hardware resources, but I'd love to hear any recommendations or advice!

Building a home lab is a great starting point! Once you've got that, try to automate everything you can. You could eventually take it a step further and create an entire home data center!
Step 4: Consider getting your servers into a colocation for even more experience!
Start from the ground up as a junior admin, tackling those procedural tasks at first. As you gain experience, you'll start noticing the little details you can fix. It's all about building up your experience gradually!
I'm in that position right now too, just trying to automate repetitive tasks like user management!
I recommend finding old equipment and setting up a small lab at home. Follow the official documentation and when you hit a wall, look up tutorials. That way, you can figure out what you enjoy and want to learn more about without getting stuck in the wrong path!
The key is to just practice, practice, practice! That's what really solidifies your knowledge over time.
Yes! Practice is everything!

What kind of stuff should I include in my home lab?
