I'm downloading a lot of files and to speed things up, I drag them from the download bar in Chrome or Edge straight to the File Explorer icon on my taskbar, and then into the appropriate folder. The issue is that if I drop them into a window that's on my secondary drive, it copies the files instead of moving them, which clutters my Downloads folder. I know I can use Shift to move files between windows, but this doesn't work with the browser download widget. I've tried using WinAero Tweaks but didn't get any results. Is there any way to change the default behavior for this?

Have you thought about using cut and paste from the right-click menu? Some users find that approach works better when moving files around.
When you're dragging files between different drives, Windows will always treat it as a copy operation. If you're trying to avoid cluttering your Downloads folder, consider navigating directly to the right folder in File Explorer first before saving the file. That way, you can just hit 'Save' without needing to move anything later.
Honestly, I’d recommend just managing your downloads directly through File Explorer instead of using the browser's download bar. It’s a bit more straightforward and avoids the whole copying issue altogether.
Try using the right mouse button instead of the left when you drag. That should prompt Windows to ask if you want to move or copy when you release the mouse.
