I'm a 21-year-old guy with very controlling parents who constantly check my Find My location under the guise of safety, but it's really inconvenient for me. I live separately from them and I'm planning a secret two-week trip abroad next month. I have an iPhone 16 which currently provides my location, and I also own an iPad. Is it possible to switch the location tracking to my iPad and leave it at home? What are the risks or precautions I should take? I can't just turn off my location because that would raise red flags. Any advice would be appreciated!

Here's a guide that might help: [MacRumors Guide](https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/hide-your-iphone-find-my-location/). It looks like you've thought this out well, and it's a solid approach!
You can definitely set your iPad as the primary location source instead of your iPhone. Just go into your Find My settings and switch it up. This way, your parents will see the location of your iPad instead of where you actually are.
Thanks! This was the plan I had in mind, glad to hear it's a reliable method!
