I recently stumbled upon a couple of monitors and a PC while walking home, and the PC just needed a RAM stick to work. Everything powers on, but I'm stuck because I don't have a mouse or keyboard. Is there any way to check if the PC has a password without those peripherals? Also, can I possibly use my MacBook or phone in this situation?

A random option you might try if you have an Android phone and it's rooted is using an app called android-hid-client. However, if you don't have a rooted phone or a way to pair Bluetooth devices, this might not work well for you. I'm just saying there's a chance if you have the right setup!
If you're looking to check the PC's access but don't have a keyboard, that’s tricky. While you can turn on the PC and see if it boots to the desktop, you’ll ultimately need a keyboard for most actions. Maybe pop into a thrift store; they usually have cheap peripherals like keyboards and mice.
Honestly, a keyboard is necessary unless you already know some tricks. If you want something affordable, consider getting a Dell KB216 keyboard and a Dell MS216 mouse. You can grab them on eBay without breaking the bank. Plus, make sure you get USB ones since most new PCs don’t have PS/2 ports anymore.

I had no idea some boards still have PS/2 ports! That’s cool, but you might not easily find a PS/2 mouse, so just check out USB options!
