How can I check for spyware on my PC?

I got my PC from a pawn shop a few years ago, and I can't help but feel worried that it might have spyware on it. Is there a reliable way to find out if that's the case? Recently, I've noticed a weird pitch-black tab that pops up for a few seconds when I start my computer, and I'm not sure what that's about. Also, my memory seems to fill up quickly at random times, and I often see Microsoft Edge running in the background even when I haven't opened it. Could these be signs of spyware?

The black tab you see is just the console loading up; that's normal behavior for PCs, so don't worry about that! Just keep an eye on your memory usage and consider checking for malware if it seems off.

First things first, did you do a fresh installation of Windows when you got the PC? It's a good step to secure things right off the bat.
