I just built a new PC with a 2TB NVMe SSD and initially partitioned the storage into an 80GB drive for Windows (C:) and a 1.92TB drive for everything else (D:). Now, I'm finding that despite selecting the D: drive for downloads, my C: drive keeps filling up even though it doesn't show many apps or files.
I've tried using 'Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions,' but the only options available for both drives are 'shrink volume.' After shrinking the D: drive, I have unallocated space but I can't figure out how to merge it back into my C: drive. I'm willing to do whatever it takes, even a full wipe of my system, to resolve this. Any advice on how to unpartition my storage would be greatly appreciated!

You might try using Macrium Reflect to image your C: drive to an external drive, then delete all partitions and restore the image. This will allow C: to use the entire SSD's capacity.
Have you checked out Minitool Partition Wizard? It’s a handy tool that can help you merge partitions without data loss. Give it a shot!
To merge your partitions back into one, you'll need to delete the second partition (D:), which will erase everything on it. So, make sure to back up your important files first! Once that's done, you should be able to expand the C: partition to fill the free space. If it still doesn't work, consider using a third-party tool like GParted for more control over the partitions.
Since you just built your PC, you could consider doing a fresh Windows install. This means deleting the existing partitions during installation, which will give you a fresh start. You will lose everything though, so ensure everything you need is backed up first. When you get to the disk selection part during installation, delete the partitions and proceed.
