I recently had a disaster with Windows 11 and decided to switch to Linux Mint instead of fixing my old operating system. However, the technicians set up a dual boot system, leaving me with both Mint and remnants of Windows 11 on my hard drive. Now, I want to completely get rid of Windows and free up that space. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

You can remove the Windows partition by opening the Disks application, selecting the partition where Windows is installed, and then clicking the minus icon to delete it. After that, you can format that space to ext4, which Mint can then access, or you can expand your Mint partition to include the old Windows space. Just a heads-up, if you're doing the resizing while using the OS, it won't work, so you might want to boot from a live USB to do that safely.

Good point! And remember, after you delete Windows, you might have to reconfigure Grub. If that sounds too tricky, a fresh installation of Mint might be easier and faster.
