How can I completely reset my PC after a hack?

I need guidance on how to reset my PC after it was hacked. I've attempted the standard reset options from the troubleshooting menu and settings, but I keep getting a message saying, 'we ran into a problem, nothing was changed.' I've also tried various commands suggested in tech videos, but nothing seems to work. I'm considering doing a fresh installation of Windows from a USB stick, but I'm unclear if that will actually factory reset my computer or if it will just install Windows 11 on top of everything. Do I need to take additional steps to ensure a full reset after installation?

Doing a fresh installation from a USB is effective! When you boot from the USB, you can choose to delete all the partitions during the setup. This will wipe everything off your drive and give you a clean slate with a new installation of Windows. Just remember, data is permanently lost, so back up anything important beforehand!

Got to be cautious with hacks. Fresh Windows installation from a USB is the way to go. Just delete all the existing partitions to ensure nothing is left behind. After that's done, just follow the prompts to install Windows 11.

Avoid using the built-in reset option, especially if malware is involved. Instead, check your BIOS for a secure wipe function. If you don't have that option, delete all partitions during the Windows installation process using a USB created on a known clean PC. This will fully wipe your PC and make it feel brand new. Just remember to back up any personal files first, as this process will erase everything. After reinstalling Windows, you might get some preferences back if you logged in with a Microsoft account, but you'll have to reinstall drivers and set everything up again.

While you could try to clean up the system and remove malware through Task Manager or by searching the registry, it's often much safer and faster to just wipe everything and start fresh. Even skilled users can miss hidden threats, so a clean install is usually the best course of action post-hack.
