I'm trying to completely wipe my Acer Nitro 5, which currently runs Windows 11, and reinstall the OS from scratch. I have a USB stick with the Windows installation tool ready, but I've hit a few roadblocks.
So far, I tried using the built-in reset option, but that didn't work. I read online that file corruption could be a reason for this, but I'm not very tech-savvy. I tried running some commands to address that issue but no luck.
When I attempted to use the USB with the Windows installer, I wanted to delete the partitions before installation, but only the USB drive shows up and not the SSD. I tried using the 'diskpart' command to list disks, but again, only the USB drive appears, so I'm unable to select and clean the main SSD.
Moreover, I noticed that when I boot from the USB stick, my laptop shuts down after a few minutes, which adds to my frustration. It's getting late, and I've been at this for hours, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with a solid solution. Thanks for any guidance!

You can actually reinstall Windows from scratch without needing to mess with partitions right away. Just boot from the USB stick and go through the installation steps. Make sure to select 'Custom Install' during setup, which should show all available drives. Even if the SSD doesn’t show at first, check your BIOS settings to ensure it’s recognized there. Sometimes, a quick BIOS update might solve detection issues too! Let me know if you need help with that process.

I would love to try that, but the SSD doesn’t show up during installation, only the USB stick. I’ll look into the BIOS settings like you suggested. Thanks!
