How can I connect my Brother printer to my router?

I just got a new Brother printer, but I'm having trouble connecting it to my router. It's not accepting the network key, and I'm unsure where to plug in the LAN cable. Should the cable go from the router to the computer, from the printer to the computer, or from the printer to the router? Also, I came across a default password while checking the instructions, but I'm not clear on when or how to use it. Is it necessary? And by the way, why can't I find a phone number for Brother support?

If you're setting up your printer wirelessly, you don't need a LAN cable at all. But if you're going wired, connect the LAN cable from the printer directly to the router. Just make sure to enter the Wi-Fi password correctly; it can be tricky on those small screens. Oh, and that default password you found is usually just for firmware updates, so don't worry about using it now.

Just to clarify, it sounds like you had the LAN cable plugged in while trying to connect wirelessly, which can cause confusion. Remove that cable, and you should be able to connect to the network. I've been there too—sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error! Good luck!
