How can I connect my Philips TV to the internet for streaming?

I recently got an older Philips TV and I'm having trouble figuring out how to connect it to the internet. I can't find any settings related to Wi-Fi or network connections. Do I need to use a cable to get it connected? I just want to be able to watch Netflix or YouTube on it. Also, is a Chromecast similar to what I need, or is that a different device entirely?

Just so you know, the Philips 37PFL7403D/10 isn’t a real smart TV. It’s a better idea to invest in a Chromecast for streaming.

You might want to look up your model online and grab the instruction manual to see if there are any details about connecting it to the internet.

Lmaooo yeah I got scammed apparently.

A good solution here is to skip the built-in features of the TV and get a streaming device like a Chromecast or Fire TV. These plug into the HDMI port and handle Netflix and YouTube smoothly, which might be better than trying to get the old smart interface working.

Thanks for the suggestion!

What's the exact model of your TV? It’s possible that it might not be a true smart TV or might only support an Ethernet connection, though that's less common.

It's a Philips, Model No: 141, 37PFL7403D/10.

I think the seller might have misled you. This model doesn’t actually have smart capabilities.
