Hey everyone, I'm a total newbie at this. I'm developing a system for my academy where parents and students can log in to view timetables, reports, and other resources like Google forms. I'm using Squarespace and Google Drive for this, and I have around 250 students. I'd like each student to have their own password-protected page. Does anyone have suggestions on how to best achieve this? I'm a bit worried about how to manage it since setting up individual pages for so many students seems daunting.

Consider looking into purpose-built platforms, like Moodle. There are open-source options that you can host yourself. While I haven't used them, they may serve your needs better than general tools. You'd want something that can cater specifically to educational settings, so you can manage classes and student-specific reports easily. Going for a well-supported platform can save you time and provide helpful resources for future adjustments.
What about setting up just one shared Google Drive folder for all the files, and then have individual folders for each student that are only shared with them and their parents? This might be easier to manage and save you hours compared to developing a custom solution. I’ve implemented similar setups before, and it worked well, though it does require some ongoing administration.
I’m not sure if Squarespace can handle this kind of setup. Generally, you'd want a database to manage user accounts and link documents specific to each user. Having to manually create individual pages would be a nightmare, so if Squarespace doesn't have a proper user management feature, considering a platform like WordPress might be better since it has many useful plugins for this kind of task. I mean, imagine making updates for 250 pages—yikes!
