How can I disable AI features in Google Search?

I really dislike AI and feel it's negatively impacting the world. I often find myself frustrated with the AI overviews in my Google searches; they tend to be incorrect and annoying. I want to stop Google from giving me these AI-generated results, but I keep forgetting to add '-ai' at the end of my searches. Is there a way to turn off these AI features in Google, or an easier alternative I can use to avoid dealing with them altogether?

You could create a custom search engine. Go to settings, choose search engine, then site search, and click add. Use this link to set it as your default: [Google Custom Search with -ai command](https://www.google.com/search?q=%s+-ai&ie=UTF-8). It'll save you from typing '-ai' every single time!

There really doesn't seem to be a way to completely disable the AI features in Google. The most reliable method is still to type '-ai' in the search, but I get how annoying that can be. You may want to explore alternative search engines further.

If you're really fed up with Google, consider switching to a different search engine like DuckDuckGo or Brave. They also do some AI processing, but I've found them to be more straightforward and less intrusive than Google when it comes to AI results.

I switched to DuckDuckGo and it's way better for my searches! Although the name is silly, the results are cleaner.

I had the same experience! It just feels more private and less cluttered.

Honestly, the only way I've seen to avoid those AI overviews is to manually type '-ai' at the end of your search queries. You could also look into getting a browser extension designed to remove AI content from your results. While you can't fully stop it from running behind the scenes, these tricks might help you see less of it.

You can try uninstalling CoPilot if you have it installed. Also, when searching, instead of hitting enter, choose the 'Web' option that appears below the search bar. If 'Web' isn't there, make sure to just select the other search options instead of 'All'. That might help you avoid the AI content.
