I'm volunteering for an organization that collects, tests, repairs, and donates computer equipment, sending up to 90 computers at a time to schools in Senegal. We're committed to ensuring the hard drives we receive are completely erased. Currently, we use ViVARD to test and wipe each hard drive individually, but this process is incredibly slow since we have dozens of disks to manage. I'm looking for recommendations on how to speed up this process. Ideally, I'd like to find a solution that allows us to connect multiple SATA disks simultaneously for testing and wiping, whether that's done simultaneously or in batches. Any suggestions on how to improve our workflow would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

One option is to set up a multi-port KVM switch. It lets you connect up to 12 PCs simultaneously to wipe and test drives, which can save a lot of time. You could even upgrade to a 20-port KVM for even more efficiency. Using Clonezilla for this purpose can also help with wiping since it has built-in utilities for disk management.

That sounds great, but we have limited space and it gets pretty hot in there. I currently have an 8-port KVM, but managing that many PCs in one area is challenging. If there's a way to test and wipe 6 or 8 drives all at once, or even run a batch process, that would be a big improvement!
