I really miss the check boxes from Windows in my file management experience. Is there any way to enable check boxes in the default file manager on Linux Mint? Or do I need to look into installing a different file manager altogether? I'm new to Linux and could use some help. Thanks!

If you're using the default file manager and can't find the check boxes, you might want to try a different one like Nemo or Thunar, which have better support for those features. It's worth experimenting!

Could you share which edition of Mint you're using? Different editions come with different default file managers, so that could change what options you have.

I'm using Mint 22.2 Zara.

In some file managers, like Dolphin, you can hit the space bar to enter 'selection mode.' After that, just left-click to select files one by one. If your file manager supports it, you can also hold down the Ctrl key and left-click to choose multiple files.
