How can I extend my coding sessions without burning out?

I've been learning to code for about four months and currently manage around four hours of practice each day, five to six days a week. However, I often feel like that's not enough. I've seen many people claim they code for eight or more hours daily, and I worry that I need to increase my hours if I want to make real progress. I work and go to the gym, but I usually have time to study from 8 PM to midnight. After that, my focus really wanes. Even on weekends when I have more time, I struggle to push myself for an extra hour or two. There are days when I just don't want to code, and when I try to power through those times, I end up frustrated and unproductive. I'm looking for advice on how to extend my coding sessions and get through those challenging days.

You're right to consider the quality of your focus instead of just the number of hours. Everyone learns at their own pace, so don’t stress about matching someone else’s hours. Make sure to pace yourself; this process is more of a marathon than a sprint. Listen to your brain—if you're tired, it’s okay to take a step back!

Exactly! I learned the hard way that pushing through exhaustion only slows down real progress.

It's crucial to remember that coding is a mental task, and pushing yourself too hard can lead to burnout. Instead of grinding through long hours, focus on quality over quantity. Find projects that you're genuinely excited about—it'll keep you motivated!
