I recently used a tool called WizTree to check what's using up space on my hard drive. It shows that around 700GB is occupied by a folder named "DESKTOP-2KBE8EA," which contains files labeled "Backup Set (date)." I'm wondering if it's safe to delete these files since I don't remember creating any backups.

If it’s just an at-home computer and you’re not reliant on those backups, it should be safe to remove them. Just double-check if there's any critical data in your files before you hit delete.
It sounds like those "Backup Set" files could be related to system backups, often made by backup software or Windows itself. If you're not sure what created them, it might be best to check your backup settings first. If you don’t need backups, then yes, you can probably delete them, but make sure you don’t need any of the data inside before proceeding.
