How can I fix my Acer Nitro 5 not using its NVIDIA GPU?

I've got an Acer Nitro 5 laptop equipped with an RTX 2060, but I'm running into some issues. While I was gaming, my screen suddenly went white with green stripes. After restarting, everything was really slow, almost like the laptop was running at half a frame per second. Eventually, it seemed to get back to normal for a bit, but when I tried to launch a game, it took forever to start. I checked the task manager and noticed that it was using the built-in Intel UHD Graphics instead of the NVIDIA GPU. I tried looking up how to change this around, but I just kept finding that my laptop is set to use the Intel GPU for high performance. I've attempted to update the drivers, but I'm wondering if there's a way to switch it back to using the NVIDIA GPU or if there's a chance my GPU is malfunctioning.

First things first, try accessing the Nvidia Control Panel. You can do this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting it from the menu. Once you're in, head over to Manage 3D settings and set your Preferred Graphics Processor to the High-performance NVIDIA processor. If that doesn’t work, check Windows Graphics Settings, go to Display > Graphics settings, and add the applications you want your Nvidia GPU to handle, then select High performance for them.

I can't get the Nvidia Control Panel to open, even as an administrator, and it doesn’t show up when I right-click on the desktop—I end up having to search for it.
