I've been struggling with my computer recently as it has become extremely slow and nearly unusable. My RAM usage is consistently at 100%, and I noticed this started happening after I played a game called Wukong. Before that, I was playing another game (Rocket League) without any issues. After trying to play Wukong, everything began to stutter, and now it feels impossible to even operate Chrome. I've looked online for solutions and some sources suggested it might be due to bad drivers, but I'm not sure how to identify which drivers might be the problem. A few weeks back, one of my RAM sticks stopped working, so I currently have 16GB of RAM instead of my previous 32GB. I also ran a malware scan with Malwarebytes, but it didn't find anything. I'm at a loss for what could be causing this issue. Here's a quick summary of my setup:
- CPU: i9-13900K
- GPU: Gigabyte AERO 4080 16GB VRAM
- RAM: 16GB (previously 32GB with both sticks)
- MOTHERBOARD: Z790 GAMING X AX
I'm on Windows 11 and unsure if this is a hardware, software, or Windows-specific problem, so I tagged it as Windows.

It looks like you might be dealing with a memory leak or some processes that are just hogging your RAM. Have you checked Task Manager? Sort by memory usage and see if any process is consistently maxing out your RAM. Sometimes, a restart or even reinstalling the recent game could work wonders. Also, check if your drivers are up to date, especially after losing a RAM stick.
Since this issue popped up after playing Wukong, it’s possible that it's resource-intensive. Try checking the game's settings and see if there’s an option for optimizing performance. Also, given that you lost a RAM stick recently, your system might be struggling more than usual to manage tasks, so ensure everything is seated properly and consider experimenting with different memory configurations if you can.
You might also want to look into any background applications running. Sometimes, things like Windows updates can cause spikes in resource usage!

If you're seeing a specific app consuming a lot of memory, it might be worth checking for updates or reinstalling it. And don't forget to run a full virus scan just to be safe!
