How can I fix my embarrassing digital footprint after a mistake on a social site?

I'm 14 and made a silly mistake by creating a NSFW account on a site where I used my Google account to sign in. This accidentally made my full legal name, which is quite unique, visible as my public profile name. Now, whenever someone searches my name, this account pops up. I tried deleting the account, but the website is glitching and support isn't being very helpful. I've also asked Google to remove it, but they said they can't deal with third-party content. What steps can I take to fix this situation?

If you can log into the account, try changing your name to something else. If that doesn't work, reach out to support and tell them you have a different last name now—maybe say you've recently gotten married or something like that. Also, consider making a few alternate profiles on various platforms using your real name but setting a different location to help push down the old info.

You definitely learned an important lesson today! It's good to be cautious about what you sign up for online. Keep at it, and you’ll get this sorted out soon!

Consider just changing your name on your Google account to something more generic. I rarely put my full name on sites that don't require it—sometimes just an initial works!

Since you're underage, definitely let them know that! They should be required to remove your information. If they refuse, you might want to inform law enforcement about the situation so they can make it right.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll mention my age when I reach out to them.

It happens to the best of us! Here’s what I’d suggest: first, close that account and let it fade away. Then, create a new, random email address to replace your Google account on that site. Just use a mix of gibberish letters for it. Once you've done that, make sure to delete the old email from your profile. It'll take some time, but the info should eventually disappear from searches.

You’ve learned a big lesson about your digital footprint! Just remember to tell them you're a minor. If that doesn't work, you might have to escalate it to someone who can help more seriously.
