I'm having trouble with my internet connection. There was an outage in my area for the last two days, but even after that, my internet still isn't working. I've contacted my service provider, and they assured me that everything is fine on their end. The only light not functioning properly is the main indicator on my router. Can anyone provide some suggestions on what to do next?

It sounds like you might need to check the router connections. Make sure that all ports are correctly plugged in. Sometimes, if someone unplugs cables, they can accidentally switch them around. Check if your WAN port (the one connecting to your ISP) is properly connected. If it's in a LAN port instead, you'll have no internet. You might want to look for any equipment your ISP provided, too, as some have specific ports that need to be used.
Knowing the model of your router can help narrow things down. If you have a Spectrum 6e, does it have an app? Many modern routers do, and the app can provide useful information about your connection status or any potential issues. If you find the app, it might give you insights into what’s wrong.
First off, try rebooting your networking equipment. Just power off your router, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on. Once it’s back up, make sure to connect your computer directly to the router using an ethernet cable. That should help you determine if the problem is with your wifi or the internet itself. Give it a shot!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check that connection right away.
