I've been struggling with a Hardware IO error on my Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller that's causing random restarts. I've tried various drivers, but nothing seems to work, and I'm also facing the same problem with my 2.5G controller. Would disabling both controllers and just using Wi-Fi be a good temporary solution to my issues?

I've heard that turning off 'fast startup' can also make a difference. It's frustrating dealing with these random restarts, especially if they happen even when the PC is idle. You might want to try that out along with disabling the controllers.
Disabling both controllers might help, but it's hard to say for sure. Some people have found success with that approach. Just give it a shot and see if it fixes the random restart problem.
