I'm trying to find a way to transition my users from Outlook Classic to the new version before Microsoft rolls it out for everyone. I understand the cloud-based approach has its challenges, but it's essential for me to get ahead of this change. I've explored Group Policy changes and registry edits, but most seem to focus on disabling the new version, which isn't what I want. I also considered using Intune settings to avoid installing the Outlook Classic with Office, but I want to keep disruptions to a minimum for my users. Is disabling POP3 and IMAP the only route I have, or are there better options?

You might want to disable POP3 and IMAP as a start, but just remember that Outlook isn’t really using those protocols fully, so it could still be tricky. Check out the admin-controlled migration policy linked here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/outlook/manage/admin-controlled-migration-policy. It worked like a charm for some older users in my team when I tested it with Intune!
I hear you; I’m not a fan of the new Outlook either. It feels unfinished and lacks some functionality. Plus, I just prefer the classic look. Maybe we could rally together for a better solution?
I totally get it! Some of us just prefer the classic interface too. It was more user-friendly!

That's great to hear it worked for you! I've got a couple of older users, so I'll definitely give that a try.
