How can I get a traditional Windows version of Microsoft Word on my Mac?

I'm using a MacBook and noticed that Microsoft Word feels quite different from the version I used on Windows. The menu bar is at the top, and the layout is confusing for me. Is there any way to get the standard Windows version of Word on macOS, or a workaround to make it look and work like the Windows version? Any tips, settings, or tools that might help would be appreciated!

Honestly, it might be worth getting used to the Mac version of Word. Recent versions have a lot of the same features as Windows. Another option is to try the web version of Word, which has quite a good experience too!

Yeah, I agree! The web version can be really handy if you're looking for something familiar without setting up a VM.

If you want the Windows version of Microsoft Word, you could set up a virtual machine using software like VMware or Parallels and install Windows along with Office there. This way, you can run Word as if you were on a PC.

On Intel Macs, using Parallels to run Windows is an option, but it can get pricey because you'll need separate licenses for the software. The performance on Apple Silicon Macs isn't great either; you'd have to use the ARM version of Windows, which can lead to compatibility issues with other apps. I suggest trying to adapt to the Mac layout since it has its own benefits.

I totally understand the frustration, but once you get used to it, the MacOS layout becomes second nature. Just takes some time!
