I'm having trouble getting my monitor to reach its advertised refresh rate of 180Hz. It only seems to work at 144Hz. What can I do to unlock that extra 36Hz?

What model is your monitor? Knowing the specific model can help us provide better advice!

It's the XYZ Gaming Monitor, model 1234. Any thoughts?

Definitely connect it using DisplayPort! Also, check if there’s an overclock option in the monitor settings once you’re using DisplayPort. That could help you bump it up to 180Hz.

You’ll want to switch to DisplayPort if you haven’t done that yet. Many monitors have limited refresh rates when connected via HDMI, so DisplayPort is typically the way to go. Plus, it can usually handle higher refresh rates without issues.
