How Can I Get My Philips TV and Universal Remote to Work Together?

I recently bought a 19-inch Philips TV from an older woman and it came with a Magnavox universal remote, but unfortunately, the remote isn't working. I've replaced the batteries, but that didn't help. She mentioned that I'd need an antenna, but all I want to do is use the HDMI inputs for my Roku or DVD player. I can't find a way to access the HDMI settings on the TV since the buttons haven't led me anywhere. Any tips to get this setup working?

Just wanted to clarify: a 19-foot TV sounds huge! I assume you meant inches, right?

Haha, yeah, I meant inches! Typing too fast.

How does that tiny TV fit in your setup? Seems like a bit of a squeeze!

LOL, I totally see your point! Should've proofread!

You might need to reprogram the universal remote to get it working with your TV. Check for the specific key sequence for your remote model and Philips TVs; that should help.

Thank you! I figured it out!
