I've been stuck trying to delete my Microsoft account for a while now because it's linked to an old company tenant that got blocked years ago without any warning. Microsoft told me to wait 20 days for the tenant to be deleted, but here I am, way past that time and it's still not gone. Should I just give up on this account and wait for it to be closed due to inactivity? Or is there another way to handle this? Also, what do you think is keeping that tenant from being deleted?

It seems like you're probably facing a tough situation. Since you can't delete the tenant and the original admins can't help, it might be best to just leave the account be. Microsoft typically closes accounts for inactivity, but it can take a long time—up to two years. So, yeah, the link to that tenant could really mess with things, but if things are as you say, waiting it out might be your best bet.
First off, is your Microsoft account one you made personally or was it set up by your work? That could change how things work with the deletion process.
It's a personal account.
I read somewhere that Azure tenants are supposed to be discontinued by early 2026, so maybe there's hope for you there.
