I'm a total newbie wanting to dive into coding, specifically with the goal of creating a basic RPG ASCII game. However, I'm at square one and have no coding experience whatsoever. Can anyone recommend some good tutorials, resources, or even basic guides for learning Python? I just need something to help me get started with coding and understand the basics; I'm open to any suggestions!

Don't worry—everyone starts somewhere! A lot of newbies ask the same question, so you’re definitely not alone. Harvard's CS50 course is a great starting point; it covers various CS topics and includes a week focused on Python. You can find it online for free here: cs50.harvard.edu/x. Also, check out "Invent Your Own Computer Games With Python," which is free to read online. Both will help you build a solid foundation for your game project!

If you're looking for a quick intro to Python basics, I recommend checking out this YouTube tutorial: https://youtu.be/eWRfhZUzrAc?si=oEBChAnsj20LX2ao. It’s a good starting point! And remember, trying to tackle simpler projects like Pong or Frogger before jumping into an RPG can really help build your skills up.

You’ve got to be patient with yourself! Start small and build your way up. After CS50, you might want to try CS50g, which focuses on games. Keep practicing by making smaller projects before getting into something as complex as an RPG.
