How can I improve my internet and phone signal in a noisy apartment?

I recently moved into my first apartment right next to a bunch of car dealerships, a Costco, and a school, and I'm really struggling with connectivity. While the Costco has decent service even when it's busy, my apartment only gets 1 bar of cell service. I also have Spectrum internet with the gigabit plan, but it's frustratingly slow. My router is in the living room, and my gaming setup is just 10-12 feet away in the next room, but the connection is practically useless. Does anyone have tips or solutions for boosting my internet and phone signal?

If you're on WiFi, try switching between 5GHz and 6GHz bands. Sometimes, just changing the band can reduce congestion and improve speed.

Consider getting a cell phone signal booster. These devices go outside your apartment and help relay the signal inside. The materials in your building, like steel or concrete, might be messing with your cell service.

For your internet, check if you're on a congested channel with your WiFi. If many people are using the same frequency, it could slow you down. Changing to a less crowded channel on your router or upgrading to WiFi 7 can really help your connection, especially since your setup is just a short distance away.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into that.

You might not need gigabit just for gaming. If your internet is fiber and has low latency, you could see better performance without needing the fastest speed. It's mainly about that latency, not just the speed.
