How can I improve the user experience with Azure Virtual Desktop logins?

I'm starting a new project at my job, focusing on an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) pilot. My goal is to enhance the user experience during login and logoff processes. Ideally, I'd like to minimize the steps users have to take, so they're not logging into their thin client and then having to log in again to access their VDI. I'd love to set it up so that it either boots directly into an RDP session awaiting user login or allows me to specify an RDP session that automatically connects upon user login. We're currently using PCs set up with Windows 11 Kiosk mode and Dell clients with Windows 11 IoT. I'm beginning to question if choosing Windows 11 IoT was the right call for our purposes.

Remember that thin clients can struggle with audio/video tasks. We've had to ditch ours for AVD because they just don't perform well in environments that need seamless communication. I understand some folks swear by them, but trust me, in 15 years of experience, I've seen the issues firsthand. It's especially problematic with Teams and WebEx if that's a major use case for you.

That's true. For now, our setup for Teams involves actual physical phones at the locations, but we're considering AVD for our call centers in the future.
