I'm using a laptop that runs Windows, but all USB ports are broken. The only slot I have is an SD card slot. Is it possible to install Linux directly from an SD card? If that doesn't work, could I install it from the laptop's own storage?

If everything else fails, you could take out the hard drive, connect it to a desktop, and install Linux there. It works well if your laptop’s USB isn’t functioning.
If your laptop can’t boot from the SD card, one option is to create a Linux root filesystem on the card and put the bootloader on the internal storage, but that requires some technical know-how.
Honestly, you might want to consider getting a new laptop. Dealing with a non-functional USB port can be a real pain!
You can definitely install Linux from an SD card if your laptop can boot from it. Just make sure to check your BIOS settings to prioritize the SD card as a boot option.
For sure, as long as your system supports booting from an SD card, you're good to go!
